BAIP News

BAIP Is on the Move with Our Annual Career Fair and Book Expo America.

Black Americans In Publishing is pleased to announce that the Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York will join BAIP in partnership to present our annual Careers in Publishing Fair on Friday, May 6, 2005. The fair which will include panel discussions will be held on the campus of Medgar Evers College located at 1650 Bedford Avenue.

Under the direction of Dr. Brenda Greene, the Center for Black Literature is home to the National Black Writers Conference, an event that author, Walter Mosley, referred to as one of the most important black literary events in the world.

We need your support to aggressively help us to identify and inform qualified candidates for job placement in career positions specific to the publishing industry. We also want to encourage human resource recruiters from publishing companies to come out and interview candidates. We want to spread the word about employment and training-- internships (both paid and unpaid), full and part time positions, consultant work, etc. Our Careers In Publishing Fair has also been strongly supported by the Association of American Publishers.

If you are a human resource professional and wish to register for this event, or you would just like more details, please contact Vice President Adaobi Obi Tulton, event coordinator, at vicepresident@baip.org.
